Michael Psaros
Michael Psaros è co-fondatore e socio amministratore di KPS Capital Partners, LP (“KPS”), e membro del suo Comitato di investimenti e del Comitato di gestione. KPS, attraverso le sue affiliate, gestisce il fondo per situazioni speciali di KPS, una famiglia di fondi di private equity con circa 19,7 miliardi di USD di beni gestiti (aggiornati al 31 dicembre 2024), la cui attività principale è investire in partecipazioni di controllo in attività produttive e industriali in una gamma diversificata di settori, tra cui materiali di base, prodotti di marca, prodotti sanitari e di lusso, componenti automobilistici, beni strumentali e produzione generale.
Michael Psaros e i Partner di KPS hanno sviluppato ed eseguito con successo una strategia di investimento proprietaria che consiste nella creazione di nuove società per acquisire beni o attività da grandi aziende, attività di proprietà di famiglie o imprenditori e attività offerte in vendita in seguito a ristrutturazioni finanziarie, ivi incluse le società possedute da gruppi di ex creditori. KPS trasforma poi queste attività in aziende indipendenti leader di settore di livello mondiale migliorando a livello strutturale la loro posizione strategica, competitività e redditività.
Le società del portafoglio di KPS Funds generano attualmente redditi aggregati annuali di circa 22,2 miliardi di USD, gestiscono 222 impianti di produzione in 21 Paesi e hanno circa 58.000 dipendenti, direttamente e tramite joint venture sparse in tutto il mondo (dati aggiornati al 31 dicembre 2024, pro forma per le recenti acquisizioni).
Attualmente Michael Psaros è membro dei Consigli di amministrazione delle seguenti società del portafoglio di KPS: Autokiniton Global Group (Presidente), Briggs & Stratton (Presidente), Innomotics (Presidente), Lufkin Industries (Presidente), Primient (Presidente), Speira (Presidente), Alta Performance Materials, AM General, C&D Technologies, Hussey Copper, Life Fitness, Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope, Princess Yachts e Sport Group. Inoltre Michael Psaros precedentemente ha fatto parte del Consiglio di amministrazione di 35 ex società del portafoglio di KPS.
Prima di entrare in 1991 e creare KPS nel 1997, Michael Psaros è stato banchiere di investimento presso Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc.
Ha ricevuto un B.S.B.A. in finanza presso la Georgetown University e ha frequentato la Sophia University di Tokyo, in Giappone.
Mr. Psaros served on the Board of Directors of Georgetown University. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the University’s McDonough School of Business and on the Advisory Board of the University’s Endowment.
Mr. Psaros received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters, Honorus Causa, from Georgetown University on 17 mag 2025, where he was the Commencement Speaker at the graduation ceremony of the McDonough School of Business.
Nel 2013 Michael Psaros e sua moglie hanno creato “The Michael and Robin Psaros Endowed Chair in Business Administration” presso la McDonough School of Business della Georgetown University.
Mr. Psaros and his Family created the “The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Endowed Orthodox Chaplaincy, Endowed by the Michael Psaros Family” at Georgetown University in 2021.
The Psaros Family also funded an Orthodox Christian Iconostasis and accompanying Iconography for the Copley Crypt Chapel at Georgetown University.

Mr. Psaros is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the St. Nicholas, a Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine located at Ground Zero in New York City (www.StNicholasWTC.org). He is the former Vice Chair of the organization responsible for its construction and completion. The National Shrine is the only house of worship located at Ground Zero and serves as a cenotaph in memory of the 3.000 people who tragically lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. The St. Nicholas National Shrine has attracted over 500.000 visitors from all over the world since opening to the public in December 2022.
Psaros was honored by the Hellenic Republic (Greece), through The Hellenic Post (ELTA) and the International Foundation for Greece, for his exceptional business achievements, extensive philanthropic efforts, and commitment to Hellenism. The Hellenic Post placed Mr. Psaros on a limited-edition postage stamp now in circulation throughout Greece.
Mr. Psaros is an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarch, where he serves on its National Council. He serves on the Board of Trustees of The Leadership 100 Endowment – Advancing Hellenism and Orthodoxy in America, and the Executive Board of The Hellenic Initiative. In passato è stato tesoriere dell'Arcidiocesi greco-ortodossa d'America e membro del suo Comitato esecutivo. Ha ricevuto numerosi riconoscimenti da organizzazioni nazionali greche e ortodosse.
